Château d’Issan, one of Bordeaux's most historic estates, has been crafting wine since the 12th century. It famously provided wine for the 1152 wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and King Henry II of England. Recognized as a Third Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, the estate is renowned for its elegance and finesse. Under the Cruse family's guidance since 1945, and with Jacky Lorenzetti as co-owner since 2013, the estate has seen renewed investment and vitality.
 

Located at the entrance of the Cantenac commune in Margaux, the vineyards of Château d’Issan boast deep gravel and clay-limestone soils, perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This prime location, shared with some of the Médoc's most prestigious estates, allows Château d’Issan to produce wines of remarkable finesse, aromatic complexity, and aging potential. Over the years, the estate has built a reputation for producing consistently outstanding wines that combine finesse, structure, and value.
 

The 2020 Blason d'Issan, the second wine of Château d'Issan, is a blend of approximately 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. The 2020 Bordeaux vintage is a standout, often compared to 2018 and 2019, with a growing season that featured a wet spring, a hot dry summer, and timely September rains, resulting in wines with freshness, balance, and ripe tannins.
