As a distinguished winery in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy, Castello Banfi, is also internationally recognized for its outstanding Brunello di Montalcino. Founded in 1978 by the Banfi family from New York, the estate was created to produce premium wines that authentically reflect Montalcino’s unique terroir.

The family acquired a historic medieval castle and made significant investments in vineyard development and modern winemaking technology, establishing Castello Banfi as a leader in contemporary Tuscan viticulture. Located in southern Tuscany within the Brunello di Montalcino denomination, the estate benefits from diverse soils and favorable microclimates.

Spanning approximately 2,830 acres, with about 900 acres of vineyards, Castello Banfi combines innovation, tradition, and a strong commitment to quality, earning its reputation as one of Italy’s most respected wine producers.

That fancy packaging leads to an elegant bouquet and soft fruit flavors, blackberry, baked plum and sweet spice. The tannins are resolved, and the wine shows lots of supple layering.
